As part of the Council’s commitment to keep residents involved and informed in the regeneration of Milton Creek, it has organised another community event themed ‘Nature and You’.

At this event, everyone present will have the opportunity to take a short, guided tour of Milton Creek Country Park to see what is happening now and what is planned for its future. This is also your chance to share your suggestions with us as to how the Council can involve the community in maintaining the park.

Nature and You is an ideal theme as Milton Creek is all about Nature, green space and health. The guided tour will increase people's awareness of the enormity of the park and how it will encourage health walks. It will also enable people to hear about the progress of the event area, landscaping and the natural play area.

The event takes place this Saturday, 15 May 2010. The meeting point is Jackson’s Site Office, Mill way – near ASDA in Sittingbourne.

There will be three tours, each lasting 30 minutes, and the times are:

First group – 10.15 am
Second group – 10.45 am
Third group – 11.15 am

Phoebe Adefeso, Milton Creek Gateway Landscape Project Manager, said “With work underway on the project, it is good to be able to show people how things are progressing. This community event will inform people and help them to feel involved in the progression of the project and be motivated about the park. We want the community to champion this unique asset.”

Refreshments will be available, but please ensure you wear the right clothes and footwear. Contact Phoebe Adefeso on 01795 417399 for more information.
